1/ What is Agarwood?
- Agarwood (Vietnamese: trầm hương) is a rare, resin-rich wood formed when Aquilaria trees naturally respond to stress in the wild. Over years, the wood darkens, the resin deepens, and a one-of-a-kind scent emerges—complex, warm, and quietly luxurious. Revered across Asia and the Middle East, agarwood is used for meditation, perfumery, and meaningful gifting.
2/ Why It’s Prized
- Complex aroma: layers of sweet, smoky, balsamic, leathery, and honeyed notes that evolve with heat and time.
- Rarity: genuine resin forms slowly and unpredictably, making high-grade pieces extremely scarce. In plantations, Aquilaria trees usually need about 10 years to reach a size where they can be inoculated; after inoculation, resin forms within years and is often harvested ~1, 2 year later—so plan on ~12 years from planting to first harvest. Some of the agarwood much more older than that make the agarwood more valuable
- Cultural depth: long associated with clarity of mind, respect, and auspicious beginnings.
- Value : Agarwood prices vary because no two pieces form the same. Older wood with high oil density and a deep, clean, long-lasting aroma is rarer and costs more, while cultivated or lighter-resin pieces are more affordable. Origin and bead shape, bead size also affect the final price.
3/ Care & Storage
- Keep dry, cool, and away from direct sunlight.
- Store chips/bracelets in an airtight bag or box to retain aroma.
- Avoid strong chemicals, perfumes, and prolonged water exposure.
4/ A Meaningful Gift
- Agarwood carries the grace of old forests and the calm of quiet mornings—an elegant gift for milestones, business relationships, and loved ones who appreciate depth over flash.
